Wildlife Encounters

On December 10, 2010 Cambridge PTA hosted an Assembly for the students to enjoy. Wildlife Encounters focuses on teaching the students about wild animals and with great enthusiasm encourages kids to take a vested interest in nature, wildlife and their pets! The speaker shared with students animals found in the Australian Outback. A few students and teachers were asked to be volunteers and hold some of the animals. From bearded dragons to a tarantula spider, the fascinating animals just kept coming. First grade teacher Miss Bush braved the tarantula on her shoulder. I admit, I'm not sure I could have done that. Mrs. Sullentrup, our Art Teacher bravely tapped the nose of a little crocodile. Who knew they can't see directly in front of them. I really believe the students came away from this assembly with a lot of information about the wild animals they were introduced too in addition for a new sense of respect for all animals. What a great assembly! Below is a short slide show to give you a peek at what the kiddos experienced!
